Passages of Time

This commission, for Mid Pennine Arts, gave me the chance to explore the east Lancashire region that includes Accrington, Burnley and Nelson and Colne. This is an area whose character proclaims an industrial past that includes both textile manufacturing and coal mining. The photographs trace the changes in the landscape as the old industry (including two power stations) were being removed and large areas re-landscaped and new roads built.
