‘Perfect’ - People Photographing People, 2005 - 2007
Regardless of whether still pictures are being made with digital or film cameras, photography continues to be a popular activity used to record events and gatherings to visualise significant moments in our lives. This project investigates how photography can satisfy the human desire to make a record to signify ‘arrival’ whatever the place. The pictures show this process linked to travel and include both the ‘pose’ and the ‘position’ of the photographer, how the camera is held, the type of viewfinder, the relationship of the camera to the eye and the photographer’s stance and position with regard to their subject and the surrounding landscape.
